East London-based DJ Siobhan Bell has developed a cult of listeners, covering R&B, trap, and grime.Name:Siobhan Bell Location:East London Occupation:DJ
How did you get into music?
I used to go to Living Proof and Work It and found a common interest with my passion for music amongst my friends. Many of them were DJs already so it was a natural progression to start messing around with friends records in their houses.
Have you been involved in the industry for long?
5 Years, I actually started assisting the A and R team at Atlantic records as an intern.
Where are the best places to hang out in London?
I spend a lot of time at Shoreditch House too; it’s good for meetings, Wi-Fi and food.
Visions night club is where I always end up with friends after an event.
What would you say to other girls wanting to make it in the industry?
Be yourself, know who you are. Being on a lot of male line ups as a DJ, let the artistry do the talking and not the fact that you’re a girl because it shouldn't matter!
What inspires you most?
The people who support me in what I do - whether it be someone on the dance floor, people that send me music and share their creative output, or friends.
Who would you most like to work with?
Rihanna - She’s a strong woman constantly making strong music.
What’s your favourite era?
Y2K! Mainly because of The Spice Girls and other Pop music at that time.
Describe your style in three words.
Colourful, #currentmood and London.
